The cost of materials used in restoring 038 is rapidly (has!) exceeding the market value of the 1-26A model. This is normal for any low-value restoration effort. I have scrubbed (as much as possible) all tooling costs, for instance the cost of the welding torch, rivet puller etc. as these are considered capital expenditures in my accounting method. However, I have included most of the cost of consumables such as sandpaper, solvents, paintbrushes, paint, etc. Updated July 29, 2005 I have not kept track of the manhours, I suppose I could estimate it pretty closely, but that would serve only to depress me. There are no costs remaining except the diesle to tow it to Ephrata and the cost of an aerotow!
Total expenditure (recorded anyway) to date: $11,829.37 |
